PURPOSE: To provide a mold which can be easily applied, without crushing fibers, to optical fiber ribbons of different tolerances, and various kinds of optical fiber ribbons wherein the numbers of optical fibers are different. CONSTITUTION: This molding device forms an optodevice on a ribbon of optical fibers, and the mold is inserted between a movable upper plate 1 of a transfer- molding press, and a fixed bottom plate 2, i.e., a counter pressure plate, and the molding device consists of a plurality of plates including an inlet channel, primary and secondary runners, and an optodevice molding cavity 3 which is defined when two plates are joined, and through which the ribbon of optical fibers extends. |
