PURPOSE:To simulatively display a periscopic video without impairing high resolution and to inexpensively realize it. CONSTITUTION:As for a video signal from a video signal generator 1, the center of a displayed picture in a vertical direction is enlarged in a longitudinal direction, and both upper and lower sides are reduced by an image converting means 2. The signal enlarged and reduced to be converted in the vertical direction is scanned at regular intervals so as to be the video signal. The video signal is displayed as a video on a display device 3. Contrary to the conversion of the image converting means, an inverse image conversion optical device reduces the central part of the image displayed on the display device 3. This, many scanning lines are included in the vicinity of the central part, so that the resolution becomes high. |
