PURPOSE:To allow a mobile station to obtain a standby state quickly after application of power by scanning perch information stored in an EEPROM and a ROM. CONSTITUTION:After application of power, a mobile station conducts perch channel scan processing, in which perch channel presence information in an EEPROM is read and the presence of the storage of a scanning perch channel is checked (37). When the perch channel presence information is stored in the EEPROM, the perch channel is read (38) and its reception level is measured (39). When a perch channel whose level is a threshold level or over is in existence, the standby channel selection processing is proceeded. When the perch channel whose level is a threshold level or over is not in existence, (40) or the scanning perch channel is not stored in the EEPROM (37), all perch channels stored in advance in a ROM are read (41), the reception level is measured (42). When a perch channel whose level is a threshold level or over is in existence, the processing proceeds to the standby channel selection processing and when not in existence, the processing proceeds to the out-zone processing. |
