In a pair of scissors, especially haircutting scissors, having two scissor blades (1, 2) that are hinged together with a single joint (3) and having two scissors shanks (4, 5), each of which has two shank sections (28, 29 and 30, 31), respectively, the first shank section (28, 30) being joined to a given blade (1, 2), the second shank section (29, 31) encompassing the handle end of the shank (4 and 5, respectively) and the two shank sections in each case being hinged together so as to pivot in the plane of the shank, the invention provides that to achieve optimal ergonomic adjustment the two shank sections can be locked in positions at different angles to each other and that the locking is effected in the hinged connection of the shank sections.
