MONOCULAR NIGHT VISION DEVICES

A night vision device (10) employs an image intensifier which is located in a hollow of a housing (18). The night vision device is a monocular device adapted for enabling a user to view through an ocular port (14) at night time conditions to see images which are directed through an objective port (12) of the monocular device. The housing (18) is shaped to conform to the hand of a user and has a series of finger accomodating undulations on a top surface and a thumb accomodating recess on a bottom surface. This configuration enables a user to grasp the monocular device with one hand while viewing the image. The undulations enable the user to aim the device and assure that the orientation of the device is predetermined according to above-noted surface contours.
