Current supply rail for series electrical modules

A conductor rail supplies several electrical modules arranged in a row. The cable is held between the legs (12 ,13) of a U-shaped channel and the connectors (23) of the modules have prongs (28) which pierce or cut through the cable insulation (17) to make contact with the inner conductor (16). The prongs have pointed ends or knife blade ends. Either a single pointed prong is used, entering centrally, or two bladed prongs sandwiching the conductor between them. One of the walls of the channel has a ridge for holding the cable in position. The connectors have snap catches so that they are fixed mechanically to the channel walls.
