Process for separating out dust from gas streams, in particular for dust preseparation or for separating out coarse dusts. In order to enable simple, fault-in sensitive and thus economical separation of relatively large dust loadings and/or relatively coarse dusts or particles from gas streams, deflection at least once of the gas stream through an angle of 75 to 120 DEG is provided.
