Holding mechanism for knitted parts in double knitting machine

A holding mechanism is for a knitted part made on a double knitting machine and features a row of presser sinkers (3) which move in the radial direction in relation to the row of cylinder needles. Each sinker (3) has a projecting sinker head (32) located at a front sinker end in the horizontal direction. The projecting head (32) can be moved into a front boundary position which is located above the top edge of the knitted part formation surface at a distance that is equal to the thickness of the knitted part which has been knitted during the stitch stroke of the corresponding cylinder needle.
