<p>Phthalocyanine dyes I are prepared by reacting a salt of sulphurous acid with a cmpd. II, in the presence of a solubilising agent. (where Pc is the copper, phthalocyanine gp; R1 and R2 are each H, (1-4C) alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; A is not >6C alkylene; X is sulphonic acid gp, 4C alkoxy, aryloxy or opt. substd. amino; X1 is Cl, alkoxy, aryloxy, or opt. substd. amino; a = 0-2, b=1-4 and a+b is not >4), solubilising agent is pref. urea, acetamide, thiourea, sulpholane, dimethyl sulphoxide, triethanolamine, hexamethylene-tetramine, or N-methylpyrrolidone-2. The presence of the solubilising agent facilitates the reaction. The dyes are esp. suitable for dyeing cellulosic textiles.</p> |
