The vehicle seat back rest (5) can be swivelled forward to a position enclosing an acute angle with the seat cushion (3) of the vehicle seat (1). A seat section (9) for a child is extendably mounted on the rear side of the back rest. The rear side of the back rest simultaneously forms a support section for the child's seat. The vehicle seat is the co-driver's seat and the back rest can be locked in the forward position.
