A gasket, esp. a cylinder head gasket, consists of one or more overlying metal or soft material sheets with passage openings and with elastomeric or thermoplastic overlays which are injection moulded from one or both sides around the openings and then vulcanised or set. The novelty is that at least two gasket (1) regions, to be provided with overlays (7-10), are connected by stamped slots so that, during injection moulding of the overlays (7-10) onto the gasket (1) clamped in the mould (13,14), at least two of the overlays (7-10) are produced at both sides of the gasket (1) using a single injection channel (16.
