Striped sweets are mfd. from a main mass of material (2), and at least one strand of "stripe material" (11) which are brought and bound together as a striped rod (14). This is subsequently divided into individual striped sweets. Continuous grooves (9) are formed into the length of the rod (3). The stripe material is inlaid, thus forming the striped rod. Mechanical pressure is used to press, unite and form the stripe into the rod.
