The invention concerns a method of cleaning bathroom fittings and the surfaces of other solid objects, the method calling for the objects to be cleaned to be treated with an undiluted cleaning aqueous solution, including a chalk-dissolving acid or an alkali-metal salt thereof, and whose surfactant content consists of at least 50 % by wt. of alkylpolyglycoside. The method proposed has a high cleaning action, does not produce residues and does not damage the materials cleaned.
