Illuminating and picture-taking installation for motor vehicle driver

The head of the seated driver (1) is illuminated by a source (20) such as an infrared LED. Half of the reflected light passes through the semitransparent mirror (30) and band-pass filter (40) to a CCD camera (10) linked to a behaviour detection circuit (100). The direction of illumination is caused to coincide approximately with the optical axis. The band-pass filter is transparent to the infrared wavelengths emitted by the source, but excludes stray light falling on the vehicle.
