A stator vane assembly (22) for a gas turbine engine that includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced ceramic vanes (30), each of which has an inner and outer ceramic shroud (32, 34), and a ceramic post (36) extending from one of the shrouds (32, 34), and a metallic platform (46) having a plurality of circumferentially spaced sleeves (48). A tolerance ring (56) is mounted in each of the sleeves (48) and then the ceramic posts (36) are pressed into the rings. The assembly (22) is then ready to be mounted within the engine.
