The mounting at least of one support (1) in a casing (2) formed by two half-shells (2a, 2b) is effected by dividing the half-shells (2a, 2b), in each case in their cylindrical section (11), in the region of a section (4) projecting beyond the support (1)/supports (1), and by the fact that each of these two half-shell pieces rests at a mutual spacing on the jacket (3), which surrounds the support (1) and projects on one side with a section (4), and are connected to it by the weld (13). On the exhaust inlet side, the inlet connection (6) has, upstream of the support (1), a cylindrical section (7) with an inside diameter equal to the outside diameter of the jacket (3); the support (1) is mounted loosely on the inlet side in a woven ring (12), between beads (14, 15) in the housing (2).
