Curved tampon applicator with finger grip

A curved tampon applicator 10 having an improved fingergrip 20 preventing rotation of the applicator during tampon insertion. The tampon includes an arcuate tubular member which has a stepped outer profile having an enlarged portion 18 housing a tampon, joined to a smaller fingergrip portion 20 which has two pairs of opposing flat surfaces which improve grip. The tubular member has a forward end 22 through which the tampon is ejected and a rearward end 44 through which the plunger slides. The fingergrip portion also has a plurality of ribs 68 encircling its periphery which further improve grip.
