PROCESS OF TREATING SOAPSTOCK

Soapstock is processed into the soap cleaning preparation in the following manner: after possible previous modification of the pH to values within the range of 8 to 13.5 by the addition of a concentrated inorganic acid the soapstock is subjected to a sedimentation process with the subsequent separation of 10 to 30% by volume of water, and lipase is added to the remaining mixture of soap and fat 0.1 to 0.55 % by weight of the free and/or immobilized enzyme according to the mass of the remaining mixture, and the mixture reacts at a temperature of 30 to 60 degrees C for a period of 2 to 6 hours.
