A moulded ceramic or metallic body is produced from a chloride material in the form of powder or particles mixed with a binder, by: (a) feeding the ductile material into the cavity of asphalt mould, one or more sections of the mould made of a microporous oriented material with communicating micropores, and one or more sections of the mould surface forming the cavity, having a surface of closed micropores; (b) heating the mould and cavity, both prior to, and during feeding of the ductile material with heated fluid in the micropore system, then cooling the mould after casting, by coolant fluid passing through the micropores; (c) removing binding material or additions as required by heating or other methods; and (d) sintering the finished moulding as desired. Also claimed is a moulded body formed by the above claimed process and comprising ceramic and/or metallic materials. |
