Synthesis of alkyl t-alkyl ether.

摘要

The synthesis of an alkyl t-alkyl ether comprises reacting a 1-6C primary alcohol with a 4-10C tertiary alcohol in a molar ratio of 10:1-1:10 in the presence of a catalyst at 20-250[deg]C and under a pressure of 1000 psi. The catalyst comprises a beta-zeolite modified with one or more metals from Gp. VIII opt. contg. further modification with a halogen or Gp. IB metal. The Gp. VIII metal-modified beta-zeolite is reduced in a stream of H2 at 100-600[deg]C.
