The weft supply mechanism of Specification 1,115,707 has a number of cooperating pairs of magnets arranged to hold the drum stationary. The photo-electric cell is also arranged to act through a bore 34 in the drum to disengage the clutch drive when the thread coils cover the bore. If the drum does inadvertently rotate the photo-electric cell is no longer able to act through the bore and the loom may be arranged to stop.
