Porous monolithic ceramic support substrates, well suited for consolidating inorganic filtration membranes thereto, e.g., micro/ultrafiltration membranes, to provide composite inorganic micro/ultrafiltration devices, have a mean equivalent pore diameter Ds ranging from 1 to 20 mu m and a pore volume greater than 30%, and comprise ceramic alumina particulates at least partially coated with TiO2 particles, wherein the percentage by weight of TiO2, with respect to the total weight of Al2O3 plus TiO2, ranges from 1% to 75%.
