<p>PURPOSE:To provide an intake device for a multicylinder internal combustion engine which is constituted to prevent resonance supercharging from being offese by each other by intake ports having different lengths and connected to respective cylinders and generate a swirl at each cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A multicylinder engine 1 having a plurality of intake ports 4a and 4b having different lengths per one cylinder is divided into two cylinder groups where an intake order is not continued. The intake ports 4a or 4b, the lengths of which are equal to each other, of each cylinder group are connected to respective surge chambers 13-16. The surface chambers 13-16 having the intake ports 4a and 4b the lengths of which are equal to each other are intercommunicated through respective resonance pipes 17 and 18. The pipe lengths LL and LS of the resonance pipes 17 and 18 and pipe sectional areas SL and SS are selected such that all resonance supercharging is generated at one and the same number of revolutions according to the lengths of the intake ports 4a and 4b connected thereto. Further, a switch valve 21 to close either the resonance pipe 17 or 18 is arranged at the gathering part 20 of the resonance pipes 17 and 18.</p> |
