PURPOSE:To substantially thoroughly remove ink from a nozzle face by a method wherein a cap-hermetically closed state applies weight to a mechanism driving system in a state of releasing an atomosphere-communicating part while a suction mechanism is operated. CONSTITUTION:A suction recovery apparatus 20 is provided at a home position of a recording head. A pulse motor 25 is used as a driving source. A cam 24 is revolved by transmission with a series of gears 25a, 25b, 25c to operate a pump lever 29 and a rotary lever 35, and a suction mechanism and an atmosphere-communicating part are operated. A rubber stopper 33 being an opening part communicated to a pump 26, caps 22a-22b as a negative pressure source, opens and closes a vent valve 33 with a rotary lever 35 which is freely rotatable by a vent valve arm 37 and a hinge shaft 34 with a side face 24b of the cam 24. The pump carries out sucking operation by vertical motion by making a pump lever 29 pivot by taking an intersection part between the lever 29 and a pump lever base 30 as a fulcrum with a cam projection 24a. |
