The voice message transmission device of a key telephone transmits a stored voice message to a subscriber when a user is absent. The device comprises a microprocessor for controlling the device corresponding to the keyboard operation of the user, an interface for interfacing the voice message, a modulator for modulating the voice message, a serial/parallel converter for converting the serial voice message into the parallel signal, a memory for storing the parallel message signal, a parallel/serial converter, and a demodulator for demodulating the serial voice message and transmitting the message to the telephone line.
