METHOD FOR SYNTHESIZING POROUS PREFORM FOR OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To synthesize a porous preform for optical fiber capable of synthesizing a porous glass preform having a uniform outside diameter by increasing the amount of glass fine particles sticking to an end of a target. CONSTITUTION:This method for synthesizing a porous preform for optical fiber is to control the profile of glass fine particles ejected from a burner 16 with a rectifying gas when an end of a traversing target 10 reaches the vicinity of the burner 16, narrow the sticking region of the glass fine particles at the end of the target 10 and increase the amount of the glass fine particles sticking to the end of the target 10.
