PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricating oil composition having good abrasion resistance and simultaneously excellent thermal and oxidation stabilities by blending a base oil for the lubricating oil with specific amounts of a triaryl phosphate and benzotriazole (derivative). CONSTITUTION:This abrasion-resistant lubricating oil composition is obtained by blending a base oil for the lubricating oil (e.g. a paraffinic mineral oil highly refined with a solvent) with (A) a triaryl phosphate expressed by formula I (R<1> to R<3> each is an aryl or a 7-22C alkylaryl) (e.g. tricresyl phosphate) in an amount of 0.01-5.0wt.% based on the total amount of the composition and (B) benzotriazole and/or its derivative expressed by formula II [R<4> is a 1-8C alkyl; (a) is 1-3], formula III [R<5> is H or a l-8C alkyl; (b) is 1-3; R<6> is a 1-6C alkylene; R<7> and R<8> are H, a 1-18C alkyl], etc., [e.g. N,N-dioctylaminomethyl(methylbenzotriazole)] in an amount of 0.01-5.0wt.% based on the total amount of the composition and, as necessary, (C) a diaryl polysulfide (e.g. dibenzyl disulfide) in an amount of 0.01-5.0wt.% based on the total amount of the composition. |
