<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a hot rolled steel sheet which is provided with a superior surface quality even at the leading end of the coil and with a uniform mechanical property over the entire length of the coil. CONSTITUTION:In the method for coiling a steel sheet by a coiling machine, coiling is performed such that the coiled and laminated part with the thickness of 40mm or more from the leading end is cooled at a temperature lower than the remaining part by 40 to 80 deg.C. As a result, the loosening of coil is reduced which is caused by the heat stress at the leading end of the coil, and a part to be cut off because of the generation of scratches is also reduced. In addition, there is no adverse effect to the mechanical property of the leading end.</p> |
