PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer printing image excellent in sharpness even to any fabric using at least a fiber capable of being dyed. with a sublimable dye and to also provide a dyed fabric excellent in sharpness. CONSTITUTION:A melt type thermal transfer ribbon for dyeing a fabric is a sublimable dye-containing melt type thermal transfer ribbon and consists mainly of a base film layer 2 and an ink layer 1. The ink layer 1 mainly consists of a sublimable dye, vehicle composed of a wax and/or a synthetic resin and a substance satisfying a condition of 50 deg.C <=m.p.<b.p. <=200 deg.C or a substance with a sublimation point of 50 deg.C or higher and the base film layer 2 has a heat-resistant layer 3 on the surface opposite to the ink layer 1. According to circumstances, an intermediate layer is provided between the base film layer 2 and the ink layer 1. |
