PURPOSE:To provide the high-frequency cauterization device which has a spray solidifi cation function and ensures the safety of an endoscopic high-frequency treatment by stopping and suppressing the function of the spray solidification by control of a control means via a detecting means for detecting the connection of an endoscope cord and automatically suppressing the output of another high-frequency output mode. CONSTITUTION:The presence or absence of the connection of the endoscope cord is detected by the endoscope cord detecting section in mono-polar selection. The max. electric powers of the respective modes for incision, spray solidification and ordinary solidification are limited at the ordinary max. set values if the cord is not connected. The max. electric powers of the respective modes for the incision and the ordinary solidification are limited to the values lower than the ordinary max. set values and the output of the spray solidification mode is stopped if the cord is connected. The max. electric powers of the respective modes for the incision and the ordinary solidification are limited at the ordinary max. set values and the output of the spray solidification mode is stopped if the endoscope cord is not connected in bipolar selection. The max. electric powers of the respective modes for the incision and the ordinary solidification are limited to the values lower than the ordinary max. set values and the output of the spray solidification mode is stopped if the cord is connected.
