<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the derivative of a specific formula, having strongly antiviral action, and useful as a therapeutic agent for herpes ladialis, herpes genitalis, AIDS (HIV), herpes zoster, etc. CONSTITUTION:This thionucleoside derivative is expressed by formula I (B is nucleic acid base derivative; R<1> and R<3> are H or Oh-protecting group; R<2> is 1-4C alkyl), e.g. 1-(2-deoxy-4-methyl-4-thio-beta-D-ribofuranosyl)thymine. Besides, a compound of formula II (X is an eliminable group) is reacted with a nucleic acid base derivative and, in the case in which the prepared compound contains a protective group or a readily eliminable substituent group, the protective group is optionally removed to give the objective derivative.</p> |
