DEODORIZING DEVICE USING MICROORGANISM AND MICROORGANISM IMPLANTING LAYER

PURPOSE:To reduce pressure losses by using an implanting layer of natural fibers covered or impregnated with deodorizing microorganisms or enzymes and a three-dimensional filler made of a synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:An implanting layer composed of natural fibers b1 covered or impregnated with deodorizing microorganisms or enzymes and a three- dimensional filler b2 made of a synthetic resin is used. The natural fibers b1 for deodorizing microorganisms are obtained by squeezing the sarcocarp of a coconut in a direction almost perpendicular to the direction of the fiber-bundle and cutting it. Or the natural fibers b1 for deodorizing microorganisms are made of a fine powder of husks or a tea leaf residue from which the essence of tea has been extracted. The implanting layer causes little pressure loss as compared with peat moss and a ceramic-packed column, and produces an excellent deodorizing effect.
