PURPOSE:To provide a substance having a specified amino acid sequence, exhibiting a heparin binding secretory transforming factor 2 activity and useful, e.g. as a cure-promoting agent for a burn or a wound, a therapeutic agent for ulcer of digestive organ or a platelet-increasing agent. CONSTITUTION:A new hst-2 mutein composed of a polypeptide represented by formula I [(n) is 0 or 1; X is a polypeptide expressed by formula II or its fragment], having a heparin binding secretory transforming factor-2 (hst-2) activity and a growth promotion effect on an animal cell and useful as a cure- promoting agent for a burn, a wound, etc., a therapeutic agent for ulcer of digestive organ or a platelet-increasing agent. This polypeptide can be obtained by culturing a transformant having a vector containing a recombinant DNA coding the polypeptide expressed by formula I in a culture medium and collecting the product produced and accumulated in the culture medium. |
