PRODUCTION OF QUASI-CRYSTALLINE AL ALLOY HYPERFINE GRAIN AND AGGREGATE THEREFROM

PURPOSE:To produce quasi-crystalline Al alloy hyperfine grains having excellent catalytic activity. CONSTITUTION:The quasi-crystalline Al alloy hyperfine grains are a gaseous phase reactional product and are constituted of 20 to 30 atomic % Pd, and the balance Al. Pd has a catalytic function, and since the grain size (d) of the hyperfine grains is regulated to <=200nm, they have high specific surface area. The hyperfine grains have high catalytic activity in a methanol decomposition reaction, and the persistency of the activity is also good.
