<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the discharge of regeneration smoke and reduce the unburnt state of particulates at the end part downstream of a filter by controlling current application to an igniting heater, a catalyst heater and an air charging means. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst heater 9a is provided with a holder 91 carrying a catalyst being formed of numerous air holes 912, and bare heating wire 92 having numerous parallel U-shaped bent parts 920 inserted into the air holes 912. This catalyst heater 9a is disposed downstream of a filter 2. At the time of regenerating the filter 2, the high-low state of an idle rotation area after the start of an engine is judged, and when the idle rotation area reaches the specified time, a current is fed to the catalyst heater 9a along with an igniting heater and an air heater so as to heat catalytic grain rapidly. Bluish white smoke and exhaust odor discharged from the engine and also regeneration smoke discharged at the time of regenerating the filter 2 can be thereby decomposed, and the particulates are prevented from being left unburnt.</p> |
