PURPOSE:To enable recording to be carried out in density which is excellent in linearity by a method wherein a preheat pulse width and an interval in time between a preheat pulse and main heat pulse are controlled, and at least either of the preheat pulse width and the time interval is varied in a specific unit to carry out recording. CONSTITUTION:When a current is conducted to COM 1, each current-conducting time of segment signals SEG1-8 is determined to a latch circuit 141 and a shift register 142 by a data according to the density of each dot. Then, a preheat pulse width, an interval time, and a main heat pulse width are controlled, at least either of the preheat pulse width and the interval time is varied in a specific unit, and discharge of an ink liquid amount is varied linearly. By driving a recording head 1708 according to a data sent to a head driver 1705, printing is carried out. Recording can be carried out in density which is excellent in linearity thereby. |
