PURPOSE: To establish a rapid and easy contraction or expansion of an adjustable cushion made of a single foamed body by covering the top of the cushion with clothing material and forming channels in a plurality of sections in the foamed body except the regions next to the cloth layer. CONSTITUTION: A foamed body layer 18 in a seat cushion 10 has regions 18a, 18b and 18c corresponding to regions 12a, 12b and 12c. In their expanded state, the foamed body regions are separated from each other by gaps or channels 16. The regions 18a, 18b and 18c are loss-linked at their uppermost portions by connection foamed bodies 19. The regions 18a, 18b and 18c and the connection foamed bodies 19 are provided over their whole tops with a cloth 11 joined thereto. The cloth 11 loss-links the regions 18a, 18b and 18c. The channels 16 include angular recessions formed at upper portions of the foamed body regions, and the cloth 11 produces compression hinges 21 for the connection foamed bodies 19 at its positions located just above the recessions. The hinges 21 take an opened V shape while the cushion 10 is expanded.
