<p>A seating unit for crew members of a vehicle, especially an aircraft, and its installation. The seating unit is fastened to a load-bearing structure and is composed of an upholstered seating surface, an upholstered back, an upholstered headrest, a safety belt system and a supporting frame. Its function is essentially to provide a seating unit where the seat and the supporting frame are movable in relationship to each other, thus leaving, in the corridor areas of a vehicle, the necessary free space for normal passage and for compliance with mandatory evacuation regulations, and at the same time ensuring the comfort and safety of a crew member using the seat. The installation of such seats is particularly advantageous in the areas from which the crew members could not have otherwise an overview of the passenger cabin. Equally advantageous is the back-to-back installation of the said seating unit.</p> |
