The method consists in interlacing Reed-Solomon coded information over a variable depth depending on the application before transmitting it in packets on an ATM network, and, on reception, carrying out a de-interlacing, being dynamically and automatically synchronised whatever the interlacing depth, before the Reed-Solomon decoding which corrects the errors and the erasures generated by transmission. Applications: high-definition television and compatibles, high-fidelity sound and compatibles, video telephony, multiplexing of all these signals (for example MPEG 1 and 2). <IMAGE> |
