PURPOSE:To provide a gas seal structure which can be stably used for a long period with simplified maintenance in a sheet type solid electrolyte fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:A cell stack 1 constituted of a sheet type unit cell and an interconnector is inscribed to a cylindrical gas manifold 2, to separate fuel gas from oxidant gas in the inscribed portions. In this gas seal structure, tubes 6 each made of partially stabilized zirconia are disposed in the inscribed portions, to separate the fuel gas from the oxidant gas. Consequently, a gas sealant made of partially stabilized zirconia is used as a solid gas seal for a sheet type solid electrolyte fuel cell, thus obtaining a gas sealing method which is stably used for a long period with simplified maintenance. |
