PURPOSE:To obtain a positive plate for a lead battery of high capacity excellent in durability by forming a mesh framework of large active material grains in an active material of the positive plate for the lead acid battery, and providing fine active material grains in the periphery of this framework. CONSTITUTION:Lead powder, having a peak of grain size distribution in a 1 to 20mum range, is used as a material lead power, to which 0.05 to 0.5% alkali and sulfate of alkali metal and alkali earth metal are added. By adding 0.05 to 0.5% alkali and sulfate of alkali metal and alkali earth metal, an active material is partly formed in a fine structure, to improve a utilization factor of the active material. By using the lead powder, having a peak of grain size distribution in a 1 to 20mum range, as the material lead powder, a mesh framework of large active material grains is formed in the active material, to improve the durability of the active material. |
