The tab (5) made of bent sheet metal has the shape of a U with a flat web (7), the branches (8, 9) of which are each extended towards the outside of the U by a tongue (10, 11) parallel to the said flat web (7). The tongues (10, 11) each have a hole for the passage of a screw (25) for attaching the tab (5) onto the thickness of the flat element (24). The web (7) of the U has a longitudinal slot (14), of which the end opposite its bottom flairs out to allow passage of the head (22) of a stud (3) fixed to the support (1) so that the neck of the stud (3) penetrates the slot (14) as far as its bottom, in order to hold the flat element (24). At least one of the tongues (9, 10) has an extension (17) bent over towards the web (7) of the U, this extension (17) being shaped so that it interacts with corresponding complementary means provided on the support (1) so as to prevent the flat element (24) from pivoting about the stud (3) relative to the support (1). <IMAGE>
