<p>PURPOSE: To actuate a conduit coupling automatically by locking lock bodies in outer annular grooves provided in a nipple body, and actuating a slide sleeve by means of a pressure medium against the force of a spring to lock the lock bodies. CONSTITUTION: This conduit coupling has an elongate, cylindrical central body 10, which has a central longitudinal hole 11 extending in the longitudinal direction. An elongate sleeve 17 is threadably engaged with the central body 10. A slide sleeve 22 is closely and slidably guided on the sleeve and extends beyond a collar 18. A plurality of lateral holes 34 penetrate the elongate sleeve 17 up to the vicinity of a conical opening 17A and have locking balls 35 disposed therein. In a specified position of a nipple body 37, i.e., when the nipple body is locked to the sleeve 17, the locking balls 35 are engaged for locking in annular grooves 38 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the nipple body.</p> |
