<p>PURPOSE:To restrain the fluctuation of performance between batteries by injecting a solution having granular silica dispersed into dilute sulfuric acid through one end of the battery, discharging extra dilute sulfuric acid through the other end, and carrying out filling of the granular silica and injection of the dilute sulfuric acid simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:A solution obtained by adding granular silica having an average particle diameter of about 60mum into dilute sulfuric acid having a predetermined concentration and a predetermined specific gravity is injected through a filling port 6 formed on the upper portion of a battery. Filling of the granular silica and injection of an electrolyte into the battery are carried out simultaneously while the extra dilute sulfuric acid is drained through a hole 4 formed on the lower portion by a vacuum pump 8. Thereafter, the lower hole formed on the battery is sealed, thus manufacturing the battery having a preset rated capacity. Fluctuation becomes more uniform with approximately the same discharging capacity in comparison with a conventional battery or a battery partially manufactured by other methods. Use of a chemically formed electrode plate dispenses with a drying process after chemical formation, thus eliminating a chemical reaction with oxygen in the air.</p> |
