MAGNIFICATION ERROR CORRECTION METHOD FOR DIGITAL COPYING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To correct a read magnification error over the entire area of an original by providing a scale to a non-picture area and using a scanner to read the scale between two predetermined points so as to control a moving speed of the scanner or correct a fluctuation of the picture. CONSTITUTION:A scale 5 is printed out in a non-picture area 4 on a rear side of a platen glass 1 to which no original image is projected. A scanner 2 is driven in the direction of the arrow and generates a pulse when a mark of the scale 5 is detected. An arithmetic section calculates the moving time of the scanner 2 based on the pulse. The arithmetic section compares a moving time of the scanner 2 with a reference time stored in advance and a drive motor control section applies feedback control to a scanner drive motor based on the result of comparison or a picture processing section interpolates a fluctuation of a picture. The reference time is read from a memory in terms of pulses in a form of the reference signal.
