PURPOSE:To quicken access just after exchanging an optical disk by previously writing access frequency data in an optical disk and allotting consecutive addresses to a cache area at the time of reloading. CONSTITUTION:When a host computer 1 accesses to a hard disk emulator 2, an emulation unit 3 obtains access frequency data and stores it in a work RAM 12. The piece of data is written in an access frequency storage area on the optical disk by back ground processing by choosing time when the host computer 1 does not access the hard disc emulator 2 at one's own direction. Then, at the time of recognizing the exchange of the optical disk, the emulation unit 3 issues a read command to the access frequency storage area of the optical disk and transfers the piece of data to work RAM 12. Furthermore, the emulation unit 3 executes the allocation of a cache area based on the piece of data. |
