PURPOSE:To avoid short-circuit between conductor bars and flashover and facilitate cooling of the surface of the commutator without sacrificing a maintenance space by a method wherein scattering of carbon powder is avoided. CONSTITUTION:A hollow box is made of insulating material. A vertical partition plate is provided in the box at the center in its axial direction to form an air supply chamber and an air exhaust chamber. A hole 9a is formed on the bottom surface of the air supply chamber at the position corresponding to the position of one of the bind trenches of a commutator 1 on the lead side of the center and a hole 10a is formed in the bottom surface of the air exhaust chamber at the position corresponding to one of the bind trenches of the commutator 1 which is on the counter lead side of the center. On the other hand, a cooling air supply pipe and an air exhaust pipe are connected to the top surfaces of the air supply chamber and the air exhaust chamber respectively. A brush holder supporting means 2 which supports brush holders 3 are provided. |
