PURPOSE:To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter having a black matrix with a high optical density and little surface unevenness using a black photosensitive resin. CONSTITUTION:The method for manufacturing a color filter by forming the colored picture element patterns of plural colors on a transparent base 1 and then providing a black light intercepting film at the part excluding the colored picture element patterns includes a process of providing a black photosensitive resin layer 5 on the whole surface of the transparent base 1, covering the picture element patterns, a process of exposing with a narrower width than the spacing of the respective colored picture elements from the black photosensitive resin layer 5 side through photomasks 8, a process of exposing the whole surface through the transparent base 1, and a process of developing the black photosensitive resin layer 5 to form a black matrix. |
