摘要 PURPOSE:To produce an optical device having plural functions in the plane and to obtain a new production method of a color filter or a color reflecting plate for a liquid crystal display by forming a liquid crystal polymer layer having a specified area on an oriented substrate, selectively adhering only a part of the liquid crystal polymer to another substrate with an adhesive, and then peeling off the oriented substrate. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal polymer layer having a specified area is formed on an oriented substrate and only a part of the liquid crystal polymer layer is selectively adhered with an adhesive to another substrate. Then the oriented substrate is peeled off to form one region of the liquid crystal polymer layer on the other substrate. The material to be transferred is a polymer showing mesomorphism and is a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer showing mesomorphism in a fused state. The liquid crystal polymer has nematic orientation or twisted nematic orientation in a liquid crystal state and changes into a glass state in a temp. range lower than the liquid crystal transition temp. As for the polymer, such polymers having ortho-susbstd. aromatic unit (expressed by formula) as the structural component are the most preferable.
