摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a uniform and stable three-dimensional discharge with a non-visible beam of light by connecting each phase output terminal of an n-phase AC output device with a discharge electrode alternately clockwise and counterclockwise in the sequence from earlier phase. CONSTITUTION:An electrode unit 1 is composed of six rod-shaped discharge electrodes T1-T6, whose tips are located close to the apices of a virtual equilateral hexagon, and electrode holders 1a to support these discharge electrodes, A discharge chamber 2 contains this unit 1 sealedly. When this chamber 2 is put in decompressed state to commence discharging, the whole region bounded by the electrodes T1-T6 makes three-dimensional light emission. Six single phase AC's A1-A6 given by a 6-phase AC output device consisting of single phase transformers S1-S6 are connected alternately clockwise and counterclockwise with the discharge electrodes T1-T6 in the sequence from eariler phase. If discharge is commenced, a plurality of discharges are generated continually between electrodes, and because of their rotating at a high speed, a three- dimensional discharge takes place in the region bonded by the electrodes T1-T6.
